Featuring Marc Robinson and The Counterfeit Crickets!
Marc created The Counterfeit Crickets to express his love of live music and Buddy Holly, very quickly they became known as the No. 1 Buddy Holly Tribute Band in the UK, after which success across Europe followed.
The whole band perform in authentic Crickets attire and, together, they produce a sound that is completely authentic and emulates the genuine recordings of Buddy Holly & The Crickets. For example, the percussion on Everyday is played by the drummer slapping his knees and on Not Fade Away it is played on a cardboard box, just like the originals.
COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS + ROUTES MAGAZINE:
“Led by a bespectacled Buddy Holly lookalike they did convincing versions of all the best known songs recorded by the legendary rocker. The audience, spanning three generations, enthusiastically applauded them all. At the end they demanded and got an encore. Nostalgia may be a thing of the past but while the likes of these lads are around Rock ‘n’ Roll will not fade away.”
Marc’s uncanny resemblance to Buddy goes beyond the horn rimmed specs and Fender Stratocaster to a voice as close to Buddy’s as can surely be possible. And, not only is Marc’s voice similar to Holly’s own, but it has been noted that his phrasing of the song lyrics is spot on. It is this kind of attention to detail that has brought him praise from all over the UK and beyond.
Tickets for this amazing night are just £12 and include hot buffet supper and disco.
